7. What time does lunch start?
There are four lunches between 10:10 and 12:10

8. When does my child go to lunch?
Each teacher has a set schedule/cafeteria to go to

9. Does my child get a study hall and how long?
30 min. during 4th period

10. How long does a student have to be at school in order to be counted here?
3 hrs. & 16 minutes but each class takes their own attendance.

11. How many class periods are there and how long do they last?
6 – 57 minutes each

12. At what time does my child need to sign-in ?
after 8:00 a.m., before 8:00 a.m. go directly to their 1st pd. class.

13. How does my child find their way around the school?
They are shown by other students and there are maps in each small school office.

14. What if I need my child dismissed early?
Each child dismissed early needs to bring a note from home. Unless it is absolutely necessary, we asked that all students remain at school.

15. If my child is having a problem with at class, who do I/student need to talk to?
Their Guidance Counselor

16. How does my child get a class change?
Must talk to their principal and guidance counselor

17. How do I reach a teacher?
Each classroom as a phone, each teacher has an ext. #, or call your child’s small school office

18. Is there a dress code?
Yes, each child is given that information in a handbook along with other information regarding the school.

19. How do I find out what bus to ride?
Each small school office can look that up or you can call 782-3878 or go onto the web site mnps.org.

20. How do I go about withdrawing my child from McGavock?
The parent needs to notify the small school office by phone or come with the child, bring all books and they will be given a withdrawal form to take around to each teacher for a final grade. The withdrawal form will be completed in the small school office and then a copy will be given to student to take to the new school.
