MISSION

The mission of the Department of Technology and Information Services (TIS) is to enhance learning and improve productivity through the use of effective information and communications technologies.

OVERVIEW

Technology is critical to the success of the educational  and business operations of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. For technology to be effective it should be easy to use, easy to understand, and transparent to the end user.

Our goal is to provide a robust environment where access to disparate resources is transparent to the user.  We research and implement enterprise-level solutions that meet the educational and business goals of the District.  Our efforts are aligned with and in support of the District's vision and strategic plan. 

Our success depends upon our ability to understand the needs of our customers, to develop a strategy to meet those needs, and to seamlessly integrate technology into our education and business environments.  The ultimate goal is to provide a robust, reliable, secure, and safe technology environment for students, employees, parents and the community.
