Friday, Nov. 5, roughly 4,200 first-time freshmen in MNPS’s zoned high schools attended the 2nd Career Exploration Fair, sponsored by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and the CEO Champions. The students mingled with more than 120 local business men and women, physicians, musicians, chefs, ballerinas, brick layers, logistics crews, public service employees, and the list goes on.
The fair is part of the Freshman Seminar, a course offered within Metro to help students adjust to high school and begin to think about what they want to study throughout high school, which of The Academies of Nashville (link to page) they would like to enroll in, and ultimately, their lives after high school. The students had to interview a variety of professional representatives and turn in a completed workbook at the end of the day.
