Schools Eligible to Receive FREE Dell Computers!
During the 2008-2009 school year, Dell Computers is continuing its support of Metro Schools by sponsoring the Dell Computer Contest. The contest, which encourages parental involvement in school, will award computers to the schools in each high school cluster who sign up the most parents for membership in their PTA, PTO or Parent Support Groups during their first meeting. The first meeting must be held between August 12 and September 19. Winners will be determined by dividing the number of PTA, PTO or Parent Support Group sign-ups by a school’s enrollment.

State Test Scores Released
Monday, July 28, the State Department of Education released the state's No Child Left Behind test scores. MNPS is excited to announce that nine district schools have been removed from the High Priority List and into Good Standing status. These schools include: Overton High, Pearl-Cohn High, Alex Green Elementary School, Glenn Enhanced Option Elementary School, Goodlettsville Middle School, Madison School, McMurray Middle School, Neely’s Bend Middle School, and W.A. Bass Middle School.
Despite this and other excellent news regarding this year's test results, MNPS has fallen into Restructuring 1 for failing to meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) this year for certain students. For more information about the test scores, district status and what's next for the district, click here.
